The Real Baja Boats !

The rebuild an old tired Ford 460

All summer I kept telling myself to pull the engine at the end of the season to fix the oil leak from the rear seal. So I pulled it exactly one year after buying the project. Before pulling the engine from it's home for 25 years, my brother and I did a compression check 130 psi was the highest and 105 was the lowest but  it had run sooo good. Well, maybe a valve job. So off come the heads. Hmm, that looks like rust pits in cylinders # 7 and  #8. Now it is just a bunch of parts on the bench. Funny how it all started with an oil leak. Now I am sure that this boat has had many years of neglect and maybe not so many hours on it. Kind of ironic the hour meter pretty well tells the boats story. It read 76 when we bought it but, of course it had no wires going to it! Here are a few pictures of the 460.
